 Hi Everyone, Though this time of year brings nasty weather, it’s the perfect time to stay indoors with a cup of tea (or hot chocolate) and something to stitch. And, as always, we’ll be helping you along with sales during the year, plus three neat trunk shows. (More on these later in the newsletter.) But first, what’s new? As some of you know who have been in to the store recently, our building is for sale. At this time, I have heard nothing about an impending sale, so we are still here! Our lease extends through this year, and we anticipate we’ll be able to work with any new owner. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know anything else. For everyone, new threads include four new colors from Silk & Ivory (Onyx, Pewter and Smokey Quartz, and Straw). From Gentle Arts, we have Crystal Lake, Cucumber, Endive, Heirloom Gold, Portabella, and Toffee. There are several gorgeous new silks from Gloriana (Arroyo, Café au Lait, Milk Chocolate, Old Gold, Green Tea, Winter White, Peacock, and Peacock Green). From Weeks Dye Works, we have new flosses (Kris’ Bon Bon, Watermelon Punch, Blue Heron, Beach Comber, Sally’s Sunshine, Peach Cobbler, King Mackerel, Tobacco Road, and Berry Splash). We are continuing to determine which of our thread lines will become ‘special order’, and which of the new lines we’ll be bringing into the store. For March, we’ll be putting Sheep’s Silk from the Thread Gatherer on sale at 50% off. Once our stock is gone, we’ll still be able to get this for you, but it will be special order rather than in stock. We have already begun to bring in Panache and Silk Lame Braid from Rainbow Gallery. For cross-stitchers, Nora Corbett has almost completed her fairy alphabet series – through ‘V’, W’, ‘X’. Prairie Schooler has ‘Signs of Spring’, ‘June’ in their monthly series, and ‘Tortoise & the Hare’. ‘Sabrina’ is the latest lovely lady in the Mirabilia line. Blackbird Designs continues its ‘three stockings’ series. Pegasus Designs has its 4th volume of Popular Dogs, including the Saint Bernard, Basset Hound, and Corgis among others. SamSarah is starting a new series of ‘A Dozen Buzzin’s’ for this year. For counted thread enthusiasts, there are new Laura J. Perin designs – ‘Idaho Star’ continues the quilt series; ‘Leaping Trout Collage’ is the newest in the Western Collection; and Blue Hydrangea joins the Secret Garden Collection. From DebBee’s Designs, there is ‘Diamond Delight V’, and additions to the Glitz and Glamour series – Carnelian, Onyx, Garnet, and Aquamarine come to mind. For needlepointers, there is a lovely birth announcement featuring a hot air balloon filled with stuffed animals. From Jinice, we have a line drawn ‘Blue Butterfly’ with a stitch guide. And we have a couple of new Christmas stockings – in plenty of time to get them done for Christmas (which comes every year!). For punch needlers, Pine Mountain has a new series of monthly kits. January features an adorable penguin, and February plays tic-tac-toe with hearts. There’s more, too, that we can’t list here. So, come visit and check it all out. Sales, Sales, Sales!! BIRTHDAY SALE: Can you believe it’s time to celebrate our 13th Anniversary? We’ll be having our anniversary sale on Fri. and Sat. March 26th and 27th. (Sunday is Palm Sunday, so we are not having our sale that day.) Trust your luck to the leprechaun’s treasure for a discount on your total purchase, including already discounted items – anywhere from 13-43% off!! PREVIEW DAY FOR GIMMIES TRUNK SHOW: We’ll be having a canvas trunk show from Gimmies during the month of March. For Saturday, March 6, all of these canvases will be 25% off. And, if you also buy threads for the trunk show canvases, you’ll get 10% off those threads. We’ll also have some light refreshments for those of you who join us that day. PREVIEW DAY FOR SHARONG TRUNK SHOW: We’ll have a preview day for SharonG - watch for more information closer to May. Trunk Shows March brings Gimmies canvases. These range from whimsical and cute to lovely landscapes and sea scenes. This designer reinvents herself constantly, so until we unpack the boxes, we really don’t know what we’ll have for you. We’ll be offering all trunk show items at 20% off during the month. May is more canvas, this time from SharonG Designs. These are elegant canvases from triptychs to landscapes to butterflies and dragonflies to geometrics. SharonG has been a designer for many years, and many of you may be familiar with her gorgeous designs. If not, we recommend that you come in and check these out!! You’re in for quite a treat!! Again, all trunk show canvases will be 20% off. We hope to see you soon!
